Director of Food & Beverage

About the Role

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a Director of Food & Beverage to lead and manage the hotel’s Food & Beverage operations. This full-time role focuses on ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining high service standards, optimizing operational efficiency, and driving strong financial performance across all dining and food service outlets.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to oversee and direct all aspects of the Food & Beverage division, including restaurants, bars, banquets, and in-room dining. The Director will be instrumental in developing and implementing operational strategies that align with departmental goals and overall business objectives, while upholding brand standards and company values.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all Food & Beverage operations across various outlets and functions.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve departmental and business objectives.
• Ensure consistently high standards of food quality, service, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
• Monitor departmental revenue, profitability, costs, and overall financial performance.
• Prepare and manage the Food & Beverage budget, forecasts, and business plans.
• Control food, beverage, and operating costs while maintaining quality standards.
• Develop and implement menus, promotions, and F&B concepts in collaboration with Culinary and Commercial teams.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and local regulatory requirements.
• Recruit, lead, train, coach, and develop Food & Beverage team members and management.
• Establish clear performance standards and ensure effective succession planning within the department.
• Monitor guest feedback and implement initiatives to continuously improve guest satisfaction.
• Coordinate with Culinary, Rooms, Sales & Marketing, Finance, and Engineering departments for smooth operations.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and external partners.
• Oversee F&B events, banquets, special occasions, and promotional activities.
• Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for revenue growth and enhancement of the F&B offering.
• Prepare and present regular operational and financial reports to the General Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Food & Beverage leadership roles.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex F&B operations across multiple outlets.
• Strong financial acumen, including budget management and cost control.
• Proven track record in developing and leading high-performing teams.
• Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
