The Role of Electrical Repair Technician

The Electrical Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment. This full-time role ensures the safe and efficient operation of electrical components within various environments. The technician is expected to adhere to electrical codes, safety standards, and company procedures while delivering high-quality service. This position requires 2-5 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, circuits, panels, and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and machinery.
• Install electrical components such as switches, VCU, BCM, and control systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
• Test electrical systems using meters, testers, and diagnostic tools.
• Ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes.
• Document repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other technicians.
• Respond to emergency repair requests and perform on-call duties when required.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe working environment.
• Trim DE trim cars in readiness to fit or remove electrical components.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Technical diploma or certification in Electrical Technology or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing or a similar repair/production environment.
• Experience in industrial or commercial electrical systems.
• Knowledge of PLCs, control panels, or automation systems.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to lift up to 20-25 kg.
• Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, or in varying temperatures.
• Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods.
• Willingness to work overtime or on-call shifts when needed.
