Fixed Assets Accountant Banking

About the Role

TAWANTECH is seeking a Fixed Assets Accountant-Banking to manage and maintain the fixed assets accounting function. This full-time role ensures accurate asset records, compliance with accounting standards and internal policies, and effective financial control over capital expenditures and fixed assets.

Purpose of the Position

The primary purpose of this role is to oversee all aspects of fixed asset accounting, from capitalization and depreciation to transfers and disposals. The Fixed Assets Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting audit processes related to the company's capital assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile the fixed assets register, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting policies.
• Review and process asset capitalization requests in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Process fixed asset transfers, disposals, and write-offs.
• Perform periodic verification of fixed assets and investigate any discrepancies.
• Review CAPEX requests and ensure compliance with approved accounting policies and procedures.
• Monitor capital projects and ensure timely capitalization upon project completion.
• Prepare management reports and analysis related to CAPEX, depreciation, and fixed assets.
• Calculate and review depreciation expenses and ensure accurate accounting records.
• Support internal and external audits by providing relevant fixed assets documentation and reconciliations.
• Recommend process improvements and strengthen internal controls over fixed assets.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure proper asset tracking and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in fixed assets accounting, preferably within the banking sector.
• Demonstrated understanding of accounting standards and internal control principles related to fixed assets.
