About the Role

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Civil Site Engineer to join its team in the Eastern region. This full-time role is central to managing civil construction, installation, and coordination for various company projects, including substations, HVDC, SVC, and STATCOM, during the OTR (Order to Remittance) phase. The position also involves participation in the ITO (Inquiry to Order) phase as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

Actively manage site civil works construction, installation, inspection, and testing for project buildings, equipment foundations, utilities, permits, and security requirements during the OTR phase.
Participate in the ITO phase as needed, including control of subcontractors' progress, oversight and planning of site resources, reporting, and liaison with project stakeholders such as the Client, Site Consultant, Project Management, MEP works, CW/MEP Engineering, EHS, and Quality security systems.
Utilize and develop in-depth knowledge of civil works technical aspects, applying prior experience and acquiring technical expertise to execute construction strategies.
Possess an in-depth understanding of key business drivers to accomplish estimation and execution works effectively.
Supervise and inspect civil works execution, maintaining QA/QC and EHS requirements, including the ability to perform civil works items quantity surveying (QS)/take-off and invoice validation.
Prepare and timely provide accurate internal and external site reports and documentation (Daily, Bi-Weekly, Monthly, 3-week lookahead, Incidents, PTW, QA/QC).
Understand and ensure compliance with contractual Terms and Conditions (T&C) commitments, attending technical and progress meetings both internally and with customers.
Ensure all on-site activities are carried out safely, complying with company environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures.
Provide expert consultation on complex projects, potentially recommending and administering policies and procedures.
Possess in-depth knowledge of scope identification, SE specification/standards, and claims analysis.
Drive customer satisfaction through a commitment to quality and support business growth initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Minimum of 8 years of experience managing site civil works, specifically at 380kv Substations and other power projects.
Strong knowledge of civil works construction, installation, and quality processing, including liaison with MEP and electrical equipment installation activities.
Strong knowledge of civil works codes, standards, quality processing, QS/take-off, and resources planning/estimation.
Valid driver’s license and passport.
Fluent in English.
Legal right to work in KSA without company sponsorship or time restriction.

Desired Characteristics

Knowledge and skill to actively support site visits, missions, and presentations, with awareness of where to seek answers to questions.
Ability to understand and implement architectural and structural technical drawings, including General Arrangement.
Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and MS Office Software Suite.
Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel.
Fluency in Arabic is considered a plus.
Ability to work under pressure and take ownership of on-site activities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good interpersonal skills.

Work Environment and Commitment

This role requires a commitment to site assignments, including the ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed. The successful candidate must also be prepared for travel and potential relocation both within the country and worldwide.
