About the Role

SME Careers is seeking a Malayalam Language Expert for an hourly, remote contract position. In this role, you will function as a Malayalam Language Specialist (SME), focusing on the review of AI-generated Malayalam content and the creation of high-quality Malayalam reference content. This position involves evaluating language quality, assessing step-by-step reasoning, and providing precise written feedback to enhance AI model output.

Your expertise in Malayalam will directly contribute to improving the world's leading AI models by ensuring their Malayalam language output is natural, reliable, culturally accurate, and clearly written.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and quality-check existing translations of English science benchmark questions (ARC) in Malayalam.
• Compare original translations and AI-proposed corrections against the English source, prioritizing accuracy and faithfulness over stylistic improvements.
• Assess outputs for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, and adherence to prompts.
• Identify errors in meaning, mistranslation, register (formal vs. informal), ambiguity, and logical consistency.
• Fact-check claims as needed to ensure content veracity.
• Write high-quality rewrites and model answers that demonstrate best practices in Malayalam writing.
• Rate and compare multiple AI responses based on correctness and overall quality.
• Review question and answer choices, select the appropriate outcome (accept original, accept AI correction, edit final translation, or escalate), and provide brief review comments.
• Preserve the source content accurately, including meaning, difficulty, answer structure, scientific terminology, and protected elements, while adhering to provided core and language-specific guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in Malayalam language expertise.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Malayalam language nuances, grammar, and cultural context.
• Ability to provide precise written feedback and evaluate language quality.

Work Type

This is a contract position with an hourly compensation structure. The role is entirely remote, offering flexibility in work location.
