The Role of Mechanical Inspector

KEO International Consultants is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to join its team. This full-time role involves overseeing and inspecting mechanical installations and ensuring compliance with project specifications, international codes, and safety standards. The inspector will be responsible for timely responses to inspection requests and maintaining detailed site records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend to Inspection Requests (IR's) submitted by contractors and take appropriate action in a timely manner.
  • Inspect the installation of electrical components, including conduits, wiring, and outlets within precast elements.
  • Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings, specifications, local codes, statutory requirements, and international best practices.
  • Report any work carried out by the contractor that is not in accordance with approved drawings and specifications to stakeholders for appropriate action.
  • Monitor the quality of works and assess site safety, including health and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with contractual/QCS specifications and safety and health risk assessments.
  • Maintain records for daily site activities, including progress photos, and ensure they are readily available for inspection.
  • Prepare surveillance reports for work deficiencies found on site and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) as required.
  • Check and ensure effective coordination between discipline-related works and all other disciplines.
  • Provide technical input and experience to resolve any discipline-related issues that may arise on site.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MEP techniques, procedures, and all relevant international codes and standards.
  • Proven experience and capability in all aspects of the mechanical engineering discipline.
