Pool Technician

About the Role

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, * is seeking a Pool Technician to join their team in the Red Sea region. This full-time role involves responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring the proper functioning of various hotel systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest maintenance issues, communicating effectively with guests.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines for proper operation.
• Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication standards.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and light bulb/A/C filter replacement.
• Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing (*, unclogging drains), electrical components, and guestroom items.
• Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
• Utilize the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work.
• Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping, including external landscaping sprinklers.

Required Skills and Knowledge

Candidates should possess basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes. The role requires basic knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge in the following areas:

• Air conditioning and refrigeration
• Electrical systems
• Mechanical systems
• Plumbing
• Pneumatic/electronic systems and controls
• Carpentry and finish skills
• Kitchen equipment
• Vehicles
• Energy conservation
• General building maintenance

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Related Work Experience: Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting is preferred. Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
• Experience Required: 0-1 year.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required.

Work Environment and Safety

The role requires adherence to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures, including reporting maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries. Completing safety training and certifications and properly storing flammable materials are mandatory. The position involves physical demands such as moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and heavier items with assistance. It also requires moving up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders, and reaching overhead and below the knees.
