The Role of QMS & GRC Engineer

The QMS & GRC Engineer is responsible for leading the development and deployment of the Quality Management System (QMS) at Lucid AMP2, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and automotive best practices. This full-time role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to build and enhance the QMS. Additionally, the engineer will work closely with the homologation team to collect, review, communicate, and track the deployment of regulatory requirements, ensuring their proper implementation within manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and implement the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements and the Lucid Production System.
• Ensure the QMS is cascaded and implemented at the plant level, involving all relevant stakeholders.
• Administer the Qualtrics system for comprehensive document control.
• Edit, review, and publish QMS-controlled documents in coordination with cross-functional leaders.
• Maintain the QMS through change management processes and continuous improvement, incorporating best practices and lessons learned.
• Conduct QMS training and coaching for team members to foster a quality mindset.
• Support Quality Management reviews and identify improvement opportunities.
• Manage interfaces with third-party certification bodies.
• Plan and execute ISO 9001 initial certification and subsequent cycle audits.
• Develop and ensure the smooth execution of internal and external audit plans.
• Establish and track the implementation of action plans resulting from internal and external audits.
• Serve as the Lucid AMP2 Internal Lead Auditor.
• Establish a list of internal auditors and ensure their training, qualification, and coaching.
• Plan and ensure the execution of Layered Process Audits.
• Develop and track the QMS dashboard, monitoring its performance.
• Consolidate QMS process performance data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Plan, prepare, and ensure the execution of Conformity of Production (CoP) audits.
• Track homologation status.
• Establish and track the execution of the Quality team's training plan.
• Collect, review, communicate, and track the deployment of regulatory requirements to ensure manufacturing processes comply with regulations in current and future markets.
• Collaborate with the homologation team to ensure vehicle and manufacturing process conformity to applicable regulatory requirements (*, CoP, SASO, DMV, NHTSA, GSO).
• Conduct GRC conformity audits on processes and products, tracking the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Deploy Conformity of Production (CoP) requirements and lead CoP certification audits.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Quality, or Manufacturing Engineering is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing organizations is essential.
• ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 Internal Auditor qualification is mandatory.
• Experience with implementing, facilitating, or participating in ISO 9001:2015 and/or IATF 16949 is required.
• Experience with Conformity of Production (CoP) audits is necessary.
• Hands-on experience with QMS and document control platforms (*, Qualtrax), including document lifecycle management, workflow configuration, revision control, change management, training assignments, and compliance tracking, is a must.
• Experience implementing quality systems in a greenfield plant is an advantage.
