About Awtad and the Role

Awtad is seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Technician to join its team. This full-time position is crucial for supporting the implementation and continuous monitoring of workplace safety programs within the organization, ensuring a safe working environment for all.

Role Purpose

The Safety Technician will play a key role in maintaining compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. This involves actively assisting in conducting safety inspections, identifying potential hazards, and fostering a robust culture of safety throughout Awtad's operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive safety policies and procedures.
• Accurately report and document all safety incidents, accidents, and near-misses.
• Deliver safety training and awareness sessions to employees to enhance understanding and compliance.
• Investigate safety incidents thoroughly and recommend effective corrective actions.
• Monitor ongoing compliance with established safety regulations and standards.
• Maintain safety equipment, ensuring its proper use, functionality, and regular maintenance.
• Collaborate effectively with management to actively promote and embed a strong culture of safety across the entire organization.

Experience Requirements

Candidates for this position are required to have 0-1 years of experience in a safety-related role, demonstrating a foundational understanding of workplace safety principles and practices.

Advantageous Skills and Experience

While not strictly required, candidates possessing the following experience will be at an advantage:

• Monitoring Permit to Work (PTW) activities.
• Assisting with risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
• Working with maintenance teams and ensuring employee and contractor compliance with safety procedures.
