About the Senior Specialist, Inventory Management II Role
Maaden is seeking a Senior Specialist, Inventory Management II to join its team in the Khurais oil field, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is critical for ensuring the accurate, compliant, and cost-effective management of inventory, assets, and warehouse operations across multiple camps. The specialist will implement effective stock control systems, manage warehouse operations, coordinate with vendors and field teams, and drive continuous improvement to support uninterrupted operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee general inventory, asset, and warehouse management across multiple camps through rotational presence.
- Manage daily inventory operations including receiving, inspecting, storage, issuance, and distribution of materials and assets.
- Implement stock control systems to monitor material usage, prevent shortages, define reorder levels, and ensure timely replenishment.
- Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring efficient storage, space utilization, material handling, and inventory flow, while maintaining organized layouts and accurate stock location records.
- Ensure all materials are stored in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, safety requirements, and company procedures, monitoring warehouse capacity and recommending improvements.
- Maintain and update accurate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory reports, preparing ad hoc reports and data analysis for management decision-making.
- Ensure inventory handling, storage, and distribution comply with safety, environmental, legal, and audit standards, enforcing FIFO and proper housekeeping.
- Coordinate with suppliers and service providers for timely delivery, repairs, maintenance, and quality assurance of inventory and assets.
- Track and monitor assets issued to users, manage system requests for asset assignments, and ensure appropriate storage for sensitive items.
- Conduct random inspections and physical inventory counts to verify stock accuracy, supporting internal and external audits and addressing discrepancies.
- Identify and process disposal of obsolete, damaged, expired, or unused materials, applying inventory optimization techniques and minimizing shrinkage.
- Conduct weekly coordination meetings with field camp management teams and deliver training on inventory procedures and system usage.
- Review petty cash invoices and supporting documents for completeness and compliance, and follow up on inventory-related deliveries, invoices, and receipts.
- Request Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for inventory items, assets, and related services, and validate supplier invoices for accuracy and compliance.
- Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in inventory efficiency, cost reduction, and system reliability.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or asset management roles.
- Proven experience with audits, reporting, and ERP or Inventory Management systems.
- Experience working in remote sites, camps, or industrial/mining environments is preferred.
- Experience managing inventory across multiple locations or remote sites is preferred.
Essential Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles, stock control systems, and warehouse operations best practices.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and the use of ERP/Inventory Management systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail for maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with vendors, field teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Commitment to safety, environmental, and audit standards.
- Proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem-solving in inventory processes.
Work Environment
This role is based in the Khurais oil field, Saudi Arabia, and requires a rotational presence across multiple camps. The environment demands a professional capable of managing complex inventory and asset operations in remote industrial settings, ensuring high standards of safety and operational efficiency.
