Technician (Kitchen)

About the Role

Marriott Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Technician (Kitchen) to join their team. This full-time role involves responding to guest repair requests and resolving maintenance issues with minimal supervision. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and address guest repair requests, communicating with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines and carry necessary equipment such as tools and radios.
• Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.

Technical Skills and Abilities

• Advanced ability to read standard blueprints and electrical schematics for plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Above-average engineering operations skills and strong general mechanical ability.
• Proficiency in at least three of the following categories, above-average skills in three more, and basic skills in the remaining: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building management.
• Solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials for repair and maintenance tasks.
• Ability to perform complex repairs on physical property, electrical, plumbing, mechanical equipment, air conditioners, refrigeration, and pool heaters, ensuring compliance with company standards and local/national codes.
• Troubleshoot and perform repairs on various equipment (*, pump and motor replacement), plumbing (*, plunging toilets, unclogging drains), electrical equipment (*, lamps, switches, outlets), HVAC equipment, cosmetic items, and internet devices.
• Utilize the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance, energy management, and other systems.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Ability to train and mentor other engineers as necessary and perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds.
