Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Specialist to oversee the end-to-end financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance functions for our club's football activities. This pivotal role ensures the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS, local regulations, and shareholder (Aramco) requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local accounting standards.
- Consolidate financial data from the club departments and ensure accurate reporting across all divisions.
- Develop and maintain financial reporting templates to streamline reporting processes.
- Prepare and submit financial reports required by the shareholder (Aramco), ensuring adherence to prescribed templates and deadlines.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to collect, validate, and organize data for shareholder’s monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting.
- Monitor changes in shareholder requirements and update reporting processes accordingly.
- Oversee the preparation of management reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses.
- Budgeting
- Support the budgeting process by providing accurate historical financial data and forecasts for the football activities.
- Assist in the preparation of variance analysis between actual results and budgeted figures for the football activities.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management based on reporting outputs.
- Audit and Compliance
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes and address audit queries.
- Review financial records to ensure compliance with club policies, IFRS, and local regulations.
- Implement internal controls to enhance the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping
- Ensure proper archiving of financial statements, reports, in compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Regularly review and update documentation to support audits and ensure accessibility for stakeholders.
- Collaboration and Leadership
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the shareholder divisions, the club operational and administrative teams, to align financial reporting with organizational goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends and financial reporting standards to drive improvements in reporting processes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/ACCA/CIMA qualification required).
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in Big 4, or Saudi Aramco affiliate.
Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and MS Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and make quick decisions.
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, local accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with Ministry of Sport reporting requirements and templates is highly desirable.
