BAE Systems serves as the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under Government-to-Government arrangements, providing essential equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. The company is responsible for the maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and for training RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel in the safe use of their aircraft, equipment, and weapons. The Role: Jet Engine Maintenance Technician

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Jet Engine Maintenance Technician to join its team in Al Majma'ah. This full-time role involves performing and supervising aircraft maintenance, components, and Bay support activities specifically for Engine, Propellor, and Fuel Systems. The technician will also provide On the Job Training (OJT) and Production Inspections, alongside troubleshooting, inspecting, removing-installing, repairing, modifying, and operating all Engine, Propellor, and Fuel aircraft systems, components, and associated support and test equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain good engineering practice and ensure compliance with RSAF Technical Orders within the Jet Engine / Fuel Shop.
  • Prepare items for calibration within the designated work area.
  • Execute TCTO’s (Time Compliance Technical Orders) and Special inspections as directed.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Aircraft Safety devices and Aircraft operating areas.
  • Ensure compliance with tool control procedures and the KFAA SAFO program.
  • Support deployments to other bases both within and outside KSA when required, including preparing equipment for these deployments.
  • Act as a Maintenance Inspection and Investigation Point (MIIP) for aircraft or ground support technical issues.
  • Provide technical activities supporting KFAA mission statements and aircraft servicing programmes, including Workshop support equipment servicing, fault troubleshooting/rectification, modifications, and inspections/evaluations of components/test/support equipment at the Intermediate level maintenance.
  • Offer technical specialty support in the evaluation, interpretation, determination of requisite corrective actions, and assessment of performance and operational status for specialty-specific aircraft systems, components, and test-support equipment at the Intermediate level maintenance.
  • Deliver informal and formal On the Job Training (OJT) to both RSAF and BAE Systems Saudi National personnel to facilitate Saudisation of PC9/PC21 Intermediate Maintenance operations.
  • Obtain and maintain necessary certifications to support specialty and aircraft maintenance functions.
  • Acquire user expertise and proficiency with the RSAF aircraft data management and tracking computer system, MIRO Gold.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A recognised qualification at NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or a suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA, or a Part 66 license (current or lapsed), or a suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.
  • Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment specific training, if required.
  • Extensive post-qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment, supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training; OR significant years of experience on the same aircraft type; OR successful completion of a BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/ TSNTTP).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering principles.
  • Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety, and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role.
  • Must hold a current Valid SEC membership.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge

  • Broad knowledge of the Aerospace and defence company / industry.
  • An understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures.
