The Role of Facilities Officer

ABYAT is seeking a Facilities Officer for a full-time position in Al Qassim, Saudi Arabia. This role involves the day-to-day, on-site delivery of both hard and soft facilities services for assigned facilities, under the guidance of the Facilities Manager. The Facilities Officer will execute approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Integrated Management System (IMS)/Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures, and Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM)/Corrective Maintenance (CM) plans. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily hard and soft facilities operations for assigned showrooms and warehouses, ensuring compliance with SOPs, HSE, Permit to Work (PTW), Risk Assessment (RA), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
• Execute and monitor PPM and CM activities for systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire & life safety, ELV systems, generators/UPS, BMS, and elevators.
• Raise, monitor, and close maintenance work orders using CAFM/CMMS, maintaining accurate documentation.
• Monitor equipment performance, alarms, recurring faults, and system issues; escalate critical matters and support root-cause analysis.
• Supervise on-site technicians and soft-service teams, ensuring proper attendance, work allocation, service quality, and adherence to standards.
• Coordinate and monitor contractors, vendors, consultants, OEMs, and authority inspections to ensure work aligns with agreed scope and schedules.
• Maintain accurate asset registers, permits, certificates, maintenance records, and site documentation in an audit-ready state.
• Ensure emergency systems and life-safety equipment remain operational and support emergency drills and corrective actions.
• Monitor energy and water consumption and support approved conservation initiatives.
• Support minor works, renovations, snagging, new-site mobilization, and handover activities.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings, and contribute to site risk assessments and mitigation plans.
• Prepare daily and weekly facilities reports covering maintenance, incidents, attendance, utilities, and HSE observations.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, HSE, quality, and facilities management requirements.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Facilities Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in facilities management or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to execute approved SOPs, IMS/HSE procedures, and PPM/CM plans.
• Experience in supervising in-house staff and on-site contractors.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate CAFM/CMMS and compliance records.
• Ability to act as the first point of contact for routine site matters and escalate issues appropriately.

Work Environment and Location

This full-time position is based in Al Qassim, Saudi Arabia, covering facilities in cities such as Medina and Al Qassim. The Facilities Officer will work on-site, managing daily operations and coordinating with various teams and external parties to ensure smooth facility functioning.
