About the Role
Aljomaih Energy & Water is seeking a dedicated Electrical Technician to join our team in Ash Shimasiyah, Al Qassim Province. This full-time role involves performing comprehensive maintenance, repair, testing, and installation activities on electrical equipment within a combined cycle power plant. The ideal candidate will possess 2-5 years of relevant experience and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on assigned electrical equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify abnormal conditions such such as overheating, unusual noise, vibration, and insulation deterioration.
- Perform cleaning, tightening, lubrication, replacement of defective parts, cable termination, and minor repair work.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults, alarms, and abnormal operating conditions to minimize plant downtime.
- Utilize approved electrical test instruments for routine checks, including voltage, current, insulation resistance, and earth resistance testing.
- Assist with specialist testing activities such as relay testing, primary/secondary injection, and transformer testing.
- Support installation, commissioning, modification, and upgrading of electrical systems and equipment.
- Complete maintenance checklists, inspection sheets, test reports, and defect reports accurately.
- Manage spare parts, consumables, tools, and test instruments, ensuring their availability and proper condition.
- Collaborate effectively with Electrical Maintenance Engineers, Operations personnel, and other site teams.
Equipment Expertise
This role involves working with a diverse range of electrical equipment, including but not limited to:
- Medium-voltage and low-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, motors, contactors, relays, and control panels.
- Generators, excitation systems, generator auxiliaries, and associated protection systems.
- Generator Circuit Breakers, Isolated Phase Busbars, Gas-Insulated Bus systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- Generator transformers, auxiliary transformers, and transformer auxiliary systems.
- MV and LV motors, motor-operated valves, soft starters, variable frequency drives, and local control stations.
- UPS systems, battery chargers, battery banks, DC distribution boards, emergency lighting, and diesel generator electrical systems.
- Cable systems, cable trays, junction boxes, earthing systems, and lightning protection systems.
- Electrical equipment associated with gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSG systems, water treatment, reverse osmosis plants, and balance-of-plant facilities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably within a combined cycle power plant environment.
- Electrical trade certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and equipment manuals.
- Solid understanding of electrical safety requirements, permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout procedures, grounding, hazardous-energy control, and arc-flash hazards.
- Awareness of electrical protection devices and their functions.

Safety, Compliance, and Documentation
Adherence to stringent safety protocols is paramount. The technician will consistently follow all electrical safety rules, permit-to-work requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, grounding requirements, and arc-flash precautions. This includes verifying equipment isolation and participating in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and incident investigations. All maintenance work must comply with applicable site procedures, OEM requirements, and environmental, health, and safety standards, with accurate documentation and reporting of all activities and identified issues.
