About the Role

ENGIE Middle East is seeking an Electrical Technician to join our team in Al Jubayl, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, along with troubleshooting and testing of all electrical equipment and systems within our Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) and Desalination Plant. The primary objective is to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical assets, thereby supporting uninterrupted power and water production. Candidates should possess 0-1 years of relevant experience and will work closely with other Electrical Technicians to maintain high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure strict compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS).
• Apply practical experience in the maintenance of electrical equipment, utilizing hands-on skills and formal training.
• Organize and manage spares, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance activities.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on major electrical systems in accordance with OEM manuals and industrial best practices.
• Conduct independent troubleshooting to identify failure conditions and rectify defects efficiently.
• Collaborate with Plant Operations Personnel to resolve issues related to control equipment, under the guidance of the Electrical Foreman/Engineer.
• Perform assigned duties with minimum supervision.
• Possess practical knowledge of plant isolations to mitigate system hazards.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
• Contribute to the department's continuous improvement in safety culture and ensure a safe working environment for self and colleagues.
• Accurately record and report all undertaken preventive and corrective maintenance jobs to the Foreman.
• Adhere to all company rules and operational procedures.
• Obtain all necessary permit authorizations for work on Electrical Systems.
• Actively participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
• Update the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) following the completion of every activity.
• Engage in technical training and continuous professional development programs.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Demonstrated practical experience in maintaining electrical equipment, ideally within a power or desalination plant environment.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and rectify defects independently.
• Familiarity with plant isolation procedures and system hazards.
• Strong understanding and adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and safe working practices.
• Capability to follow OEM manuals and industrial best practices for maintenance activities.
• Proficiency in updating and utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The Electrical Technician role operates within demanding power plant conditions and requires significant physical and mental resilience. Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Be medically fit to work in environments with exposure to high voltage, heat, noise, and confined spaces.
• Possess sufficient strength and stamina for extended periods of standing, walking, and climbing during inspections and supervision.
• Be capable of working at heights and in elevated areas, including on scaffolds and with overhead cranes.
• Have the ability to lift and handle electrical tools and equipment weighing up to 20–25 kg.
• Maintain good vision (with corrective lenses if required) and hearing to safely monitor electrical systems and alarms.
• Exhibit strong hand-eye coordination and dexterity for precise handling of electrical components.
• Be able to respond promptly and physically in emergency or fault conditions, including rapid movement to safe locations.
• Tolerate rotating shifts, extended working hours, emergency callouts, and physically demanding schedules as dictated by plant operational needs.
• Be free from medical conditions that may impair alertness, balance, or the safe performance of electrical supervision duties.

Preferred Qualification

• Residency in the city of Jubail is preferred to ensure quick accessibility to the plant in case of emergencies.
