The Role of Project Accountant

Qantara Development Investment Co. is seeking a Project Accountant to join its team in Abqaiq (Buqayq), Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves processing financial transactions, managing vendor and customer accounts, and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial data for various projects. The Project Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining financial transparency and supporting effective business planning within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track ongoing project expenses.
  • Manage day-to-day financial records.
  • Process vendor and customer payments.
  • Monitor project budgets against actual expenditures.
  • Prepare regular financial reports to ensure project cost-effectiveness and financial compliance.

Core Duties and Financial Management

The Project Accountant will process supplier invoices, manage vendor payments, and track incoming operational revenues, coordinating with relevant stakeholders for invoice processing and collection. This role involves maintaining accurate ledgers, records, and comprehensive financial data, ensuring transparency and compliance with financial regulations. Key duties also include preparing and filing tax returns, providing advice for future tax reductions, and analyzing financial data to identify risks and suggest cost-saving measures.

Furthermore, the Project Accountant will support business planning initiatives, conduct internal audits, reconcile bank statements, and resolve financial discrepancies to maintain robust financial operations.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 2 to 5 years of experience in a project accounting or similar financial role. A relevant educational background in accounting, finance, or a related field is expected. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a solid understanding of financial principles and compliance requirements.
