Senior GIS/CAD Specialist

About the Role

AECOM Saudi Arabia is seeking a Senior GIS/CAD Specialist to join their team in Duba. This full-time role involves operating independently with minimal supervision on water infrastructure and hydrological projects. The specialist will be responsible for designing and programming water-focused databases tailored for various applications within the water sector.

Role Context and Objectives

The primary objective of this position is to develop and implement GIS and CAD solutions for water resource initiatives. This includes customizing database designs and programming for specific water resource projects, addressing utility or environmental requirements. The role demands a high level of proficiency in GIS and CAD software platforms to deliver effective water infrastructure solutions and spatial analyses.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply advanced proficiency in GIS and CAD software platforms to develop water infrastructure solutions and spatial analyses.
• Design and program water-focused databases for applications such as water distribution systems, stormwater management, water quality monitoring, and hydrological analysis.
• Customize database design and programming for each water resource project based on task-specific utility or environmental requirements.
• Independently execute and deliver water sector GIS projects of moderate to significant scope and complexity, including water system mapping, watershed analysis, and infrastructure planning.
• Potentially direct the work of Level I and II GIS Specialists on water-related projects.
• May include overall project or task management for water resource initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in GIS and CAD, specifically within water infrastructure and hydrological projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and programming databases for water-related applications.
• Proven ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
