About the Role

HUDSON is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer specializing in Mechanical disciplines to support project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting. This full-time role focuses on Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and Refinery projects within Saudi Arabia, specifically across cities including Dammam, Al Khobar, Dhahran, Al Jubail, Al-Ahsa, Al Qatif, Buqayq, Ras Tannurah, Al Khafji, Safwa, Al Jish, Inak, Darin, Al Umran, Al Mubarraz, Al Jafr, Jawatha, and Umm Al Hamam.

Role Context and Objectives

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in mechanical construction, maintenance, shutdown, and turnaround projects. This position requires the ability to develop and monitor project schedules effectively, coordinating with various teams including site execution, engineering, procurement, and subcontractors to ensure timely project completion and adherence to client standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for mechanical construction, maintenance, shutdown, and turnaround activities.
  • Prepare baseline schedules, look-ahead schedules, recovery schedules, and progress updates.
  • Monitor actual project progress against planned schedules, identifying delays, critical activities, and potential risks.
  • Coordinate with Site Execution, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, and HSE teams to ensure timely project execution.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and planning dashboards.
  • Track manpower, equipment, materials, productivity, and resource requirements.
  • Analyze project performance and provide recommendations for schedule recovery and corrective actions.
  • Monitor critical path activities and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
  • Prepare progress measurement and quantity tracking for mechanical activities.
  • Support preparation of S-curves, progress curves, histograms, and productivity reports.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and monitor their progress against approved schedules.
  • Assist in identifying schedule risks, delays, and potential extension-of-time impacts.
  • Participate in project progress meetings and provide accurate planning updates to management and clients.
  • Ensure planning and reporting activities comply with project requirements and client standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a Planning Engineer, with a focus on mechanical projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and Refinery projects.
  • Proven ability to develop, monitor, and manage complex project schedules.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
