About the Incident Investigator Role
Saudi Aramco is seeking an experienced Incident Investigator to join its Loss Prevention Organization (LP). This full-time position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience. The Loss Prevention Organization provides essential occupational and process safety support to Saudi Aramco operations across the Kingdom, with field offices located in Abqaiq, Riyadh, Ras Tanura, Dhahran, Udhailiyah, Jeddah (including Yanbu and Jazan), and Tanajib. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and reliability of Saudi Aramco's extensive facilities.
Role Overview and Purpose
The primary function of the Incident Investigator is to conduct thorough investigations into industrial incidents, such as fires, major leaks, and hydrocarbon explosions. The goal is to accurately identify root causes and develop effective recommendations to prevent recurrence. This role involves preparing comprehensive incident reports and providing ongoing support to ensure the implementation of all corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate industrial incidents, particularly those with significant consequences, and assess related hazards and control measures.
- Apply forensic science principles to identify, preserve, and examine incident evidence.
- Support investigation teams by ensuring adherence to proper investigation techniques.
- Utilize appropriate investigative tools for each specific incident.
- Analyze incident causation, including the impact of human factors.
- Develop and review draft incident investigation reports through all stages of the review process.
- Formulate recommendations for global corporate-wide implementation.
- Create lessons learned documents and safety alerts to communicate preventative actions.
- Educate employees and contractors on lessons learned to ensure timely communication.
- Develop and review corporate safety guidance related to incident investigations.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in incident investigation or a closely related field. A strong understanding of industrial hazards, relevant controls, forensic science principles, and incident causation, including human factors, is essential.
Work Locations and Type
This is a full-time position. The role may be based in Riyadh, Dhahran, Jeddah, Yanbu, or Jazan, reflecting the widespread operational presence of Saudi Aramco.
