Join Calo as a Junior Sous Chef!
At Calo, launched in Bahrain in 2019, we are on a mission to make healthy eating accessible through technology. We are searching for a dedicated Junior Sous Chef to oversee operations in our Butchery Section.

Role Overview:
The Junior Sous Chef will report to the Head Chef and be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the butchery section, adhering to Calo’s policies and standard operating procedures.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and participate in the preparation of meat, poultry, and fish.
  • Ensure section has a sufficient supply of meat products.
  • Check quality and quantity of incoming and outgoing products.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the butchery section.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
  • Manage employee relations and teamwork effectively.

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate should have:
  • A professional kitchen apprenticeship or chef training.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a quality establishment with large volume butchery.
  • Strong communication skills, especially in English.
  • Knowledge of waste management is a plus.

Knowledge and Competency:
  • Expertise in various cooking methods and butchery procedures.
  • Strong leadership and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and lead a team.

Personality:
The candidate should be a strong communicator with a pleasant demeanor, capable of leading and training team members with empathy and patience.
