About the Role: Staff Product Manager - Shipping and Fulfillment

Salla is seeking a Staff Product Manager - Shipping and Fulfillment to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah Province. This full-time role is central to the platform's operations, as over 100,000 merchants rely on Salla for every order to culminate in a physical product reaching a customer. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience and is critical for managing the physical delivery aspect of the platform.

Role Overview and Scope

The Staff Product Manager will own the entire shipping stack and its underlying economics. This encompasses courier integrations, routing, cash-on-delivery reconciliation, exception handling, and partner performance. The scope extends beyond last-mile delivery to include inventory placement, warehousing, pick and pack, first-mile pickup, and returns. As the sole accountable product owner for a dedicated engineering squad, this role manages shipment costs and the platform's revenue derived from them, offering ownership of both merchant experience and unit economics.

Strategic Domains of Impact

• Shipping Products: Overseeing routing, label issuance, cash on delivery processes, tracking, and driver-facing tools.
• Partner Integrations: Managing provider onboarding, interface quality, status mapping, reconciliation, and platform stability.
• Fulfillment Beyond Last Mile: Addressing inventory placement, warehousing and third-party orchestration, pick and pack, first-mile pickup, and returns.
• Shipping Economics: Defining carrier mix, rate card design, cost per successful delivery, and platform charging/retention models.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the strategy and roadmap for shipping and fulfillment, prioritizing merchant retention and contribution per shipment.
• Determine order routing and pricing, including provider selection, service level, cost, and merchant payment.
• Enhance delivery reliability across measurable metrics such as first-attempt success, service-level accuracy, exception rate, return to origin, and cash-on-delivery reconciliation.
• Develop the integration layer to ensure fast onboarding and stable operation of new providers, covering status mapping, retries, fallbacks, and monitoring.
• Expand the product beyond last-mile delivery, selecting capabilities based on merchant retention impact.
• Define and justify which shipping capabilities are free versus paid.
• Collaborate with the data team to own metrics and reallocate volume among providers based on performance data.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proven ownership of a shipping, fulfillment, or order-management product on a platform serving multiple businesses, demonstrated by quantifiable results (*, delivery success rate, service-level accuracy, exception rate, cash-on-delivery accuracy, or cost per shipment).
• Commercial fluency in shipment economics, including experience building, pricing, or renegotiating a rate card, and the ability to explain how factors like zone, weight, service level, cash on delivery, surcharges, and failed deliveries influence cost per parcel.
• In-depth experience beyond last-mile delivery in at least two of the following areas: inventory placement, warehousing or third-party fulfillment orchestration, pick and pack, first-mile pickup, reverse logistics, or cross-border operations.
• Technical grounding in integrations, including interfaces, webhooks, status mapping, retries, and reconciliation, with the ability to explain common courier integration failures and how to build long-term stability.
• Experience as the single product owner for a dedicated engineering squad, effectively collaborating with operations, commercial, and support teams.
• Strongly preferred: Experience building products on top of a partner network, where the company sold partner capacity while developing its own capabilities.
• Willingness to relocate to Saudi Arabia.
