CLINICAL ENGINEER I

About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre is seeking a Clinical Engineer I to join their team in Medina. This full-time position is designed for professionals with 0-1 years of experience, focusing on providing operational and technical support for a wide range of medical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and analytical devices and systems essential for patient healthcare and research. The successful candidate will serve as a designated technical specialist for assigned medical and research technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform technical support duties for assigned medical and research technology, including scheduled preventive maintenance according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Execute medical and research technology operational support tasks, encompassing pre-acquisition analysis, site preparation, implementation, ongoing operational support analysis, and technology retirement.
• Train and guide Medical, Nursing, Clinical Engineer IIs, Clinical Engineering Technicians, SCDP participants, Student Interns, and other Clinical Engineering staff on the technical support of complex medical and research technology through informal on-the-job or formal classroom training.
• Act as a technical knowledge source for assigned medical and research technology.
• Ensure that medical and research equipment meets all technical support requirements from vendors and complies with relevant KFSHRC standards prior to purchase.
• Provide and/or coordinate medical equipment user education and instruction as required.
• Maintain competency in the Clinical Engineering medical technology database and other related computer software programs.
• Participate in assigned Hospital committees and adhere to all Hospital policies and procedures.
• Contribute to self and others' education, training, and development.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in a relevant field is required.
• Proficiency in technical support for medical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and analytical devices.
• Ability to follow manufacturer guidelines for equipment repair and maintenance.
• Competence in medical technology analysis, site preparation, and implementation processes.
• Strong communication and instructional skills for training diverse staff.
• Familiarity with medical technology databases and related software.

This role is based at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Medina, operating on a full-time basis.
