About the Role

Acwa China is seeking a dedicated Field Operator Transmission to join its team in Neom. This full-time role is integral to maintaining the operational integrity and reliability of critical power transmission infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring continuous power supply in accordance with established safety and operational standards.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the safe and reliable operation, inspection, monitoring, and basic maintenance of transmission systems and associated equipment. This involves upholding continuous power transmission in strict adherence to approved operating procedures, HSE requirements, and applicable grid standards. The role is fundamental to the stable functioning of the power network.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and inspect transmission equipment, including substations, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, isolators, protection systems, and associated electrical assets.
• Conduct routine field inspections, identify abnormal conditions, and report equipment faults, alarms, leaks, overheating, or other operational issues.
• Perform authorized switching, isolation, and restoration activities in accordance with approved procedures, permits, and switching programs.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including equipment isolation, testing, inspection, and safe restoration to service.
• Ensure all activities comply with company HSE policies, electrical safety procedures, Permit to Work (PTW) requirements, and applicable transmission/grid standards.
• Respond promptly to equipment failures, trips, alarms, and emergency situations, and support troubleshooting and system restoration efforts.
• Maintain accurate operational logs, inspection records, switching records, equipment status reports, and incident documentation.
• Coordinate with Control Room Operators, Maintenance, Engineering, Grid/Transmission Control, and contractors to ensure safe and efficient transmission operations.
• Verify the availability and operational condition of transmission equipment and promptly escalate any defects that could affect system reliability.
• Support operational improvements, reliability initiatives, and the implementation of best practices across transmission operations.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess a robust background in power transmission operations. The role requires a professional with proven experience and a commitment to operational excellence and safety.

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in the operation, inspection, and maintenance of transmission systems.
• Demonstrated understanding of electrical safety procedures, Permit to Work (PTW) requirements, and applicable transmission/grid standards.
• Ability to conduct detailed field inspections, identify abnormal conditions, and effectively troubleshoot operational issues.
