About the Section Head - Mechanical Role

ACWA Power is seeking a Section Head - Mechanical to oversee and manage all mechanical maintenance activities at its facility in Rabigh. This full-time position requires a seasoned professional with over 10 years of relevant experience to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, supervise, and execute preventive, corrective, shutdown, and overhaul maintenance for plant mechanical equipment.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for spare parts and consumables, ensuring the availability of strategic spares within budget constraints.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and support the maintenance team in resolving mechanical and operational issues.
  • Execute and monitor work orders using the CMMS (SAP) system, coordinating with maintenance engineers on technical matters and job completion.
  • Apply mechanical maintenance techniques and principles to maintain assigned equipment and systems.
  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, repair, lubrication, and cleaning of mechanical, hydraulic, and associated systems.
  • Ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS), HSE policies, and legal requirements.
  • Monitor IMS objectives, targets, and performance, reporting findings to management.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Identify team competency gaps and provide necessary training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure effective utilization of manpower, materials, and maintenance resources.
  • Monitor hazards, environmental aspects, incidents, near misses, and emergency situations within assigned areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant maintenance experience in industrial or power plant environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in preventive and corrective maintenance, plant shutdowns, and outage management.
  • Strong experience utilizing SAP/CMMS systems.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Competence in risk assessment and incident investigation.
  • Effective root cause analysis and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Computer literacy, including MS Office and SAP.
  • Ability to work effectively in demanding plant environments.
