We are seeking a skilled Finance Manager to lead and oversee financial operations at Steer Studios. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial analysis, reporting, and compliance while managing day-to-day processes and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Senior Financial Analyst & Project Accountant supervision: Supervise and mentor a Senior Financial Analyst and Project Accountant to ensure high performance and professional growth. Delegate tasks, provide clear direction, and oversee the quality of financial analysis and reports. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to the finance team. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to encourage innovation and efficiency.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to stakeholders. Assess budget variances. Develop and track financial KPIs to evaluate business performance. Oversee the preparation of management and investor reports.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Ensure billing, collections, and vendor payments are processed. Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and receivables. Maintain vendor and customer relationships to optimize cash flow.
- Payment Process: Oversee all financial transactions, including royalties, licensing payments, and revenue shares. Manage relationships with payment platforms and vendors regarding payments. Monitor and ensure adherence to payment schedules and contract terms.
- Month-End and Year-End Closing: Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and accruals. Ensure accurate journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Ensure proper allocation of project costs and revenue. Coordinate with external auditors to support audit requirements.
- Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, group finance internal policies, tax laws, and licensing agreements. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information. Monitor compliance with gaming industry-specific royalty and revenue-sharing agreements.
- Collaboration and Communication: Primary point of contact for the Group regarding Steer Studios Finance (requests or questions).
- Process Improvements: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Automate financial workflows using appropriate tools and technology.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 610 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the gaming or entertainment industry.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion), financial tools, and advanced Excel, Power Query.
- Knowledge of revenue models in gaming.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with gaming platforms and revenue-sharing models.
- Passion for video games and understanding of the industry landscape.
