About the Role

Fakeeh Care Group is seeking an Approval Specialist to join our team in Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves reviewing medical documentation and clinical data to ensure the appropriateness and necessity of requested medical services, treatments, and procedures, aligning with established guidelines and standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical documentation to evaluate the medical necessity and appropriateness of requested treatments, procedures, medications, or services.
• Analyze clinical data to ensure requested treatments align with established medical guidelines, protocols, and standards of care.
• Make decisions regarding the approval or denial of requested medical services, treatments, or procedures.
• Communicate with healthcare providers to gather additional information, clarify clinical details, or discuss treatment options.
• Provide guidance and recommendations to healthcare providers regarding alternative treatment options, utilization management strategies, or ways to optimize patient care while controlling costs.
• Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of the approval process, including reasons for approval or denial, in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
• Collaborate with utilization management teams to streamline processes, address complex cases, and implement best practices for medical review and authorization.
• Stay informed about advancements in medical research, technology, and treatment modalities to enhance evidence-based decision-making and clinical guidance.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by identifying trends, opportunities for process improvement, and areas for enhanced clinical oversight or education.
• Identify, analyze, and research frequent root causes of denials and develop corrective action plans for resolution.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards from government agencies and healthcare payer organizations.
• Provide education and training to healthcare providers, staff members, or colleagues on topics related to utilization management, medical necessity criteria, and documentation requirements.
• Participate in peer review activities to evaluate the quality, appropriateness, and outcomes of healthcare services provided, and to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
• Analyze denial data and lead denial recovery efforts, ensuring improvement of claims processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the healthcare sector.
• Strong understanding of medical guidelines, protocols, and standards of care.
• Proficiency in analyzing clinical data and making informed decisions regarding medical necessity.
