About the Role

Marriott International is seeking an Assistant Manager, Recreation to join The Ritz-Carlton team. This full-time position focuses on supporting the management of recreation operations, with a primary emphasis on the pool and beach areas. The role involves ensuring high standards of maintenance, cleanliness, and the efficient operation of cabana units, while also contributing to overall guest and employee satisfaction. This position is suitable for candidates with 0-1 year of experience.

Core Objectives

The Assistant Manager, Recreation will work with direct reports to implement departmental strategies. Key objectives include providing and modeling exceptional service behavior, continually striving to improve both guest and employee satisfaction, and maximizing the financial performance of the recreation areas. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of recreation operations to effectively supervise staff and manage daily activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage recreation employees, supporting day-to-day operations and ensuring quality standards are met.
• Oversee the maintenance, daily upkeep, and cleanliness of pool and beach areas, including the operation of cabana units.
• Schedule recreation events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of the recreation team.
• Manage necessary supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms, ensuring adequate stock for staff.
• Support the management of external vendors, including those for water sports and scuba activities.
• Assist with the coordination and management of group activities such as sand painting, bonfires, and team-building events.
• Support the children's program, which includes coordinating activities and purchasing necessary equipment and supplies.
• Serve as a role model for appropriate service behaviors, providing guidance and coaching to staff to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Identify and address developmental needs of employees, offering coaching, mentoring, and feedback to improve their knowledge and skills.
• Participate in the performance appraisal system and coordinate training activities for the department.
• Foster a cooperative team environment by encouraging mutual trust and respect, and communicating clear expectations to subordinates.

Experience Requirements

Candidates for this full-time position are required to have 0-1 year of experience in a relevant field. The ability to understand various employee positions and perform their duties when necessary is an advantage.
