Attendant Laundry

About the Role

Sheraton, a global hospitality company established in 1937, is seeking a Full-time Laundry Attendant to join its team. This role is integral to maintaining high standards of guest experience by ensuring the cleanliness and proper care of linens and other laundered items. The ideal candidate will be a team player committed to delivering thoughtful service.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery, including adding necessary chemicals and cleaning lint traps.
• Identify stained or damaged items and determine appropriate action for repair, spot treatment, rewash, or discard.
• Inspect the cleanliness of articles removed from machines and place them in clean linen carts.
• Set dryers to designated times and temperatures based on fabric types.
• Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain traps after each load.
• Fold cleaned articles to designated sizes, either by hand or using a folding machine.
• Maintain accurate records of all laundered items.

Workplace Conduct and Safety

• Adhere to all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management; complete required safety training and certifications.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures; ensure a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues; support team goals; listen and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards; identify, recommend, develop, and implement new methods to enhance organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings.

Physical Requirements

• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines for defects.
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Navigate narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
• Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: No high school diploma or * equivalent is required.
• Related Work Experience: No prior related work experience is required.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required.
• License or Certification: None required.
