Role Overview

The Chief Accountant will oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective financial controls. This full-time position in Saudi Arabia involves managing general ledger activities, reconciliations, budgeting support, and tax compliance, while also supervising the accounting team and providing financial insights for business operations and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards (*, IFRS) and company policies.
• Supervise and support the accounting team in daily operations.
• Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts regularly.
• Monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial transactions.
• Ensure accurate recording and classification of financial data.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
• Prepare tax reports and ensure timely filing and compliance.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Review payroll accounting and related financial entries.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues.
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all financial transactions.
• Liaise with banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities when required.
• Support financial analysis and provide insights to management for decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in accounting roles.
• Demonstrated ability to manage daily accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Experience with compliance, financial controls, and audit coordination.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Saudi Arabia. The Chief Accountant will work within a team environment, supervising accounting staff and collaborating with various departments to support business objectives.
