Cost Accountant

About the Role

Munshi HR Solutions Ltd is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their team in Saudi Arabia. This contract role involves preparing and maintaining product/service cost sheets, accurately calculating production costs, and monitoring variances against budgeted costs. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain product/service cost sheets, ensuring regular updates to costing data.
• Accurately calculate material, labor, overhead, and total production costs.
• Monitor actual costs against standard/budgeted costs and identify variances.
• Analyze cost variances and provide clear explanations and actionable recommendations to management.
• Maintain proper records for inventory, including raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
• Support inventory valuation processes and conduct regular reconciliation between physical and accounting records.
• Prepare periodic cost reports and management reports, highlighting cost trends and key findings.
• Assist in product pricing and profitability analysis based on comprehensive cost and margin information.
• Coordinate effectively with Production, Procurement, Store, and Finance teams to ensure the accuracy of cost data.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and audit requirements related to costing and inventory.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of experience in a cost accounting role or a similar financial position. A strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices is essential for this role.
