Job Description

About the Role

Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking a Director - Design Management (Healthcare) to manage design processes across the healthcare portfolio within Healthcare & Education Assets. This full-time role involves overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from initial briefing to final as-built documentation, ensuring all design outputs align with approved development briefs, operator requirements, and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide authoritative oversight of Lead Design Consultants and conduct technical reviews to ensure designs comply with regulatory standards, Safety in Design principles, and deliver value for money.
  • Manage and direct design consultant teams to ensure design evolution aligns with project requirements and approved programs, adhering to contractual obligations.
  • Develop and manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure milestone dates are met and project delivery remains on schedule.
  • Ensure designs are buildable and safe to construct, assessing contractor-initiated design changes for viability, coordination, and compliance.
  • Develop design consultant scopes of work and contribute to contractor scopes where design responsibilities apply, defining project and technical requirements across disciplines.
  • Manage design to budget by identifying and evaluating value engineering opportunities while maintaining performance criteria, specifications, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead the design approval process, securing necessary endorsements from stakeholders and overseeing the integration of approved changes.
  • Provide proactive leadership in identifying, assessing, and managing design-related risks, implementing robust mitigation measures.
  • Lead, coordinate, and monitor Safety in Design activities, including facilitating workshops to ensure designs meet safety, operational, and quality standards.
  • Conduct technical reviews to ensure design documents are coordinated across disciplines, with scope clearly identified and aligned with project briefs and healthcare facility specifications.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure requirements are incorporated, timely direction is provided, and approvals are secured.
  • Ensure all activities comply with QIC policies, processes, systems, and reporting requirements.
  • Uphold robust governance frameworks, ensuring adherence to compliance, audit, and reporting obligations, and providing accurate project reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 15years of relevant professional experience is required.
