Electrical Product Development Engineer (Elevators and Escalators Industry Only)

About the Role

TK Elevator is seeking an Electrical Product Development Engineer for the Elevators and Escalators Industry to join the Product Development Centre in Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is for a high-potential individual contributor with 2-5 years of experience, combining strong technical expertise with leadership capabilities, and a motivation to progress into a future Lead/Manager position.

Role Overview

The Electrical Product Development Engineer will be a key technical contributor, driving engineering excellence across elevator products and systems. This position involves the design, development, and lifecycle management of electrical systems and components, ensuring solutions are safe, innovative, manufacturable, cost-effective, and aligned with global engineering strategies. The role requires the ability to influence outcomes, manage projects independently, and contribute to the development of engineering capabilities within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Support or lead the design, development, and validation of electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, harnesses, and PCBAs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety and industry standards (*, UL, IEC, NEC, EN, ASME, ISO, GB).
• Drive innovation in electrical design, including the adoption of digital tools, automation, and emerging technologies.
• Oversee new product development and existing product enhancement activities across the full product lifecycle, from concept through production release.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve product performance, safety, quality, serviceability, and cost objectives.
• Prepare and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, interface definitions, and technical documentation.
• Evaluate and select electrical components, sensors, drives, safety devices, and control hardware.
• Define electrical architecture, component specifications, and design requirements.
• Drive system integration and technical alignment across mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineering disciplines.
• Champion robust design practices, including electrical DFMEA, circuit simulation, prototyping, and testing.
• Support supplier qualification and component selection efforts in partnership with sourcing and quality teams.

Collaboration and Leadership Potential

This role requires strong collaboration with local and global engineering teams to define requirements, manage interfaces, and enable effective system integration. The successful candidate will also partner with global cross-functional teams (industrial, supply chain, factories, suppliers, quality) to share best practices, drive continuous improvements, and promote standardization. There is an expectation to demonstrate potential for developing into a technical lead through strong collaboration, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Work Environment and Travel

The position requires working in lab and test tower environments, necessitating adherence to all safety procedures and company safety standards. Travel of up to 30% may be required, both domestically and internationally, to support development centers, suppliers, and manufacturing facilities.
