About the Role

NextEra is seeking an experienced IoT & Smart City Lead to serve as a customer-facing consultant for Smart City initiatives. This full-time role, based in the Eastern region, involves engaging with government entities, city authorities, utilities, transportation agencies, and enterprise customers to drive digital transformation through IoT-enabled Smart City solutions. The position requires strong expertise in IoT technologies, Smart City platforms, solution consulting, stakeholder management, and pre-sales support, with 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for Smart City opportunities and engagements.
Conduct workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and solution presentations with customers.
Understand city modernization initiatives and translate business requirements into technology solutions.
Build trusted relationships with government and enterprise stakeholders.
Design end-to-end Smart City and IoT solutions, defining architectures involving sensors, gateways, connectivity, cloud platforms, analytics, and visualization layers.
Develop use cases and business cases for Smart City initiatives, ensuring scalability, security, and interoperability.
Support RFPs, RFIs, and proposal development, including technology demonstrations and proof-of-concepts.
Collaborate with sales teams to identify and pursue new opportunities, developing solution collateral and value propositions.
Provide technical leadership during project execution, coordinating with engineering, development, and implementation teams.
Support deployment planning, acceptance testing, and solution optimization to ensure alignment with customer requirements.

The IoT & Smart City Lead is expected to stay current with Smart City trends, regulations, and emerging technologies. This includes representing NextEra in industry events, conferences, and customer forums, as well as publishing thought leadership content related to Smart City and IoT.

Qualifications and Experience

5-10 years of experience in IoT technologies and Smart City platforms.
Demonstrated expertise in solution consulting, stakeholder management, and pre-sales support.
Proven ability to engage with government entities, city authorities, utilities, transportation agencies, and enterprise customers.
Strong understanding of digital transformation through IoT-enabled Smart City solutions.
