Lead BIM Engineer

About the Role

UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company is seeking a Lead BIM Engineer to join their team. This full-time role involves assisting the Manager as a project team member, focusing on the virtual construction process to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve project documentation and delivery. The position requires 8 years of experience.

Role Overview

The Lead BIM Engineer interacts with project owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors. The primary objective is to develop and analyze virtual construction processes to maximize construction efficiency, achieve job cost savings, and enhance overall project documentation and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend and manage model coordination meetings and document project details.
• Address preconstruction and BIM meeting site problems.
• Coordinate models with internal teams and subcontractor detailers and modellers.
• Record coordination sign-offs.
• Process shop drawing level models for approval.
• Assist the project team with construction coordination and scheduling.
• Print drawing sets for team review.
• Support clients in calculating quantities for material orders and crew work planning.
• Prepare 3D models and dimension shop drawing sheets for field use and review.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of BIM models, shop drawings, and other related documents.

Reporting and Documentation

• Provide daily and weekly timesheets.

Experience Required

Candidates should possess 8 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
