About the Role

Saudi Aramco is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join the Project Control & Support Division (PCSD) within the Unconventional Resources Department. This is a full-time position focused on overseeing engineering design and construction activities for Unconventional Resources projects.

Role Context

The Project Control & Support Division (PCSD) is responsible for the development and coordination of the capital program for Unconventional Resources at Saudi Aramco. This includes providing engineering support and project management. The primary objective of this role is to ensure the timely and within-budget delivery of high-quality mechanical systems for these projects.

Responsibilities

  • Review and verify mechanical design packages, including Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and detailed design, ensuring compliance with company procedures, specifications, and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, and internal teams, to resolve issues and facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Provide technical support for construction activities, including mechanical completion and commissioning.
  • Develop and review technical documents, such as design packages, vendor documents, and construction plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential risks and issues.
  • Ensure timely review and approval of all vendor documents, drawings, and engineering deliverables.
  • Mentor and motivate junior engineers to develop their technical and soft skills.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Mechanical Project Engineer on construction projects, covering concept, FEED, detailed design, construction, scheduling, and project control.
  • Relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on mechanical systems and project management.
  • Experience in Oil and Gas Project Management Engineering, including EPC phases (engineering, material procurement, construction management of hydrocarbon facilities), with an emphasis on construction.
  • Professional certification by NCEES, PMI, or a professional engineering board is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Saudi Aramco Engineering Requirements (MSAERs) and International Codes and Standards.

Required Skills

  • Advanced technical skills in mechanical engineering.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with project management tools and software, such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
