Mechanical Technical Engineer

About the Role

UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company is seeking a Mechanical Technical Engineer to join their team in a full-time capacity. This role involves supervising and coordinating mechanical drafting work, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of technical submissions and shop drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and follow up on the work schedule of mechanical draftsmen.
• Verify and check mechanical shop drawings and technical submittals for accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure shop drawings are prepared in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and details, coordinating with other disciplines.
• Manage the drawing submission schedule to ensure efficiency and quality within target timelines.
• Ensure shop drawings comply with local authorities' regulations, health and safety standards, QCS2014, and project specifications.
• Maintain adherence to relevant company policies and procedures.
• Ensure satisfaction of the client, consultant, main contractor, and MEP project manager/CM.
• Guide technical engineers/draftsmen through work activities management during the project engineering phase and assign specific targets.
• Plan and allocate responsibilities to team members.
• Review and approve Mechanical shop drawings and design calculations before submission.
• Review and sign-off Mechanical material technical submittals before issuance to the consultant.
• Review and approve method statements in compliance with project specifications and authorities.
• Liaise with other technical departments (architect, structural, etc.) for necessary reviews and approvals.
• Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field. This role is suitable for individuals looking to develop their expertise in mechanical technical engineering within a contracting environment.
