QC Inspector Coating Project

About the Role

ABIS is seeking a QC Inspector - Coating - Project to perform inspection and testing of surface preparation and protective coating/painting activities. This full-time role ensures compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable standards for project-based work.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections on surface preparation and coating/painting works.
• Verify surface preparation, including blasting profile and cleanliness, against specifications such as SSPC/NACE standards.
• Witness coating application, conduct DFT/WFT checks, perform holiday testing, and execute adhesion tests according to the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
• Verify environmental conditions, including humidity, dew point, and temperature, prior to coating application.
• Verify materials and batch certificates against approved coating specifications.
• Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required.
• Coordinate hold points and inspections with client and third-party inspectors.
• Maintain comprehensive inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
• Verify the calibration status of measuring and test equipment, such as gauges and holiday detectors, used on site.
• Support punch-list generation and verify the closure of coating works.
• Support the preparation of quality documentation for coating handover dossiers.

Performance Indicators

Performance in this role will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

• Accuracy and completeness of inspections.
• Timely identification and reporting of non-conformances.
• First-time inspection pass rate on assigned work fronts.
• Adherence to inspection schedules and hold points.
• Quality of inspection documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in quality control inspection, specifically within coating and painting activities for projects.
