Job Description

About the Role

Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. is seeking a QC Inspector Coating Project to join their team in Al Jubayl, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves performing inspection and testing of surface preparation and protective coating/painting activities to ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, and applicable industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-process and final inspections on surface preparation and coating/painting works.
  • Verify surface preparation, including blasting profile and cleanliness, against specified standards such as SSPC/NACE.
  • Witness coating application, perform DFT/WFT checks, conduct holiday testing, and execute adhesion tests in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
  • Verify environmental conditions, including humidity, dew point, and temperature, prior to coating application.
  • Confirm materials and batch certificates against approved coating specifications.
  • Record inspection results accurately and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when necessary.
  • Coordinate hold points and inspections with client and third-party inspectors.
  • Maintain comprehensive inspection records, checklists, and daily Quality Control (QC) reports.
  • Verify the calibration status of all measuring and test equipment, such as gauges and holiday detectors, used on site.
  • Support the generation of punch lists and verify the closure of identified items for coating works.
  • Assist in the preparation of quality documentation for coating handover dossiers.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in QC inspection, specifically related to coating projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of surface preparation techniques and protective coating/painting activities.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, including SSPC/NACE.

Performance Metrics

Performance in this role will be evaluated based on several key indicators, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency in all coating inspection activities.

  • Accuracy and completeness of inspections.
  • Timely identification and reporting of non-conformances.
  • First-time inspection pass rate on assigned work fronts.
  • Adherence to inspection schedules and hold points.
  • Quality of inspection documentation.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia, requiring on-site presence to perform inspection duties.
