QC Inspector Coating Project

About the Role

Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. is seeking a QC Inspector - Coating - Project to join their team in Al Jubail, Eastern Province. This full-time role involves performing inspections and testing of surface preparation and protective coating/painting activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections on surface preparation and coating/painting works.
• Verify surface preparation, including blasting profile and cleanliness, against specified standards such as SSPC/NACE.
• Witness coating application, conduct DFT/WFT checks, perform holiday testing, and execute adhesion tests in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
• Verify environmental conditions, including humidity, dew point, and temperature, prior to coating application.
• Verify materials and batch certificates against approved coating specifications.
• Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required.
• Coordinate hold points and inspections with client and third-party inspectors.
• Maintain comprehensive inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
• Verify the calibration status of measuring and test equipment, such as gauges and holiday detectors, used on site.
• Support the generation of punch-lists and verify the closure of coating works.
• Support the preparation of quality documentation for coating handover dossiers.

Performance Evaluation

Performance in this role will be evaluated based on several key indicators, ensuring high standards of quality control in coating operations.

• Inspection accuracy and completeness.
• Timely identification and reporting of non-conformances.
• First-time inspection pass rate on assigned work fronts.
• Adherence to inspection schedules and hold points.
• Quality of inspection documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess relevant experience in quality control for coating projects.

• 5-10 years of experience in a similar role.
