About the Role

Dr Sulaiman AlHabib Medical Centers is seeking a Radiology Technologist to join their team. This full-time position involves operating radiological equipment and performing routine and general procedures to produce radiographs of designated portions of the human body. The role requires strict adherence to radiation safety regulations due to inherent hazards and assumes responsibility in designated procedural areas as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and assist staff in all radiological procedures in accordance with established protocols.
  • Ensure the technical quality of radiographs/images and proper functioning of equipment in designated areas.
  • Manage delegated areas of authority in performing routine procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Handle related duties such as PACS monitoring, maintaining x-ray records, and managing supply stocks.
  • Execute unrelated duties as required during emergencies.
  • Utilize specific techniques, equipment, and accessories to protect patients and hospital personnel from radiation hazards.
  • Prepare patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations.
  • Assist Radiologists during fluoroscopic examinations.
  • Place identifying markers on all films taken.
  • Provide and protect the confidentiality of medical or personal information acquired through professional patient contact.
  • Ensure the care and safety of all patients undergoing examination, ensuring procedures are conducted optimally.
  • Observe infection control standards outlined in policy documents, particularly concerning sterile procedures.
  • Participate actively in departmental Quality Assurance and In-Service programs.
  • Provide patient and family education as needed.
  • Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
  • Contribute to patient experience with compassion, respect, and dignity.
  • Perform other related duties applicable to the radiology department and as requested by the radiology head of department or Chief Technologist / Radiologists.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 3+ years of relevant experience in radiology technology. A strong understanding of radiological equipment operation and safety protocols is essential for this role.

Radiation Safety and Patient Care

A core aspect of this role is the consistent application of proper safety and radiation protection measures. The technologist will be responsible for ensuring patient and personnel safety from radiation hazards and maintaining strict adherence to all radiation safety regulations. Providing compassionate and respectful patient care throughout examinations is also a key expectation.
