SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to join our team in a full-time capacity. This role is central to designing functional, sustainable, and visually appealing outdoor spaces for significant infrastructure developments, including highways and urban roads.

The Role of a Senior Landscape Architect

The Senior Landscape Architect is responsible for integrating environmental planning, aesthetic design, and engineering coordination. This ensures the creation of safe, efficient, and attractive public spaces that align with project goals and environmental considerations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site analysis, including terrain, soil, climate, and environmental impact assessments.
• Design comprehensive landscaping plans for highways, medians, sidewalks, and adjoining green spaces.
• Develop drainage, erosion control, and planting schemes tailored to infrastructure requirements.
• Ensure all designs comply with safety standards, urban planning guidelines, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with civil engineers, architects, and contractors to seamlessly integrate landscape elements.
• Prepare detailed drawings, 3D models, and comprehensive construction documentation.
• Supervise on-site landscaping activities, including planting, paving, and street furniture installation.
• Monitor project budgets, timelines, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Select native and drought-resistant plant species to optimize sustainability and reduce maintenance costs.
• Incorporate design elements such as noise barriers, green buffers, and pedestrian-friendly zones.
• Enhance the visual appeal of roads and public areas through strategic greenery, lighting, and material selection.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience in landscape architecture.
• Demonstrated experience in infrastructure or road-related projects.

Essential Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, GIS, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong knowledge of urban design principles, horticulture, soil science, hydrology, and sustainability practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven project management and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prepare accurate cost estimates and manage project budgets effectively.
