The Opportunity
Mace is seeking an experienced Associate Director – Landscape Design to lead complex, large-scale projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves driving design excellence from strategy through to delivery within a collaborative team. The project focuses on a major entertainment and luxury hospitality development, requiring collaboration with architects and global consultants on extensive infrastructure and built assets. The delivery approach emphasizes hands-on construction management, suitable for professionals experienced in managing both main and sub-contract packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of landscape design strategy, ensuring alignment with programme objectives, timelines, and budget.
- Oversee the full design management lifecycle, including design planning, workflows, and deliverables.
- Manage and approve consultant appointments across all workstreams.
- Build, lead, and coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams, both internal and external.
- Act as the primary design interface, resolving issues and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Drive senior stakeholder engagement and influence decision-making to achieve project outcomes.
- Monitor and present KPIs and performance data to senior leadership.
- Collaborate towards net zero carbon transition goals and share responsibility for identifying and managing associated carbon emissions and reductions during work delivery.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
- Proven capability in design risk management, mitigation, and delivery planning.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, fees, and programme delivery.
- Strong working knowledge of design systems, workflows, and multi-disciplinary coordination.
- Ability to meet necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Relevant work experience on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, as required for immigration and client approval.
Work Environment
This role is based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is a full-time position within a high-performing team dedicated to delivering major projects.
