About the Role

Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib (HMG) is seeking a Specialist OB/GYN to join our team in a full-time capacity. This role involves providing a high standard of clinical practice and expertise across the assessment, investigation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients within Obstetrics & Gynecology. The Specialist OB/GYN will assist consultants, collaborate with multi-specialty teams, and actively contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives to support HMG's objectives. This position is suitable for candidates with 0-1 years of post-specialty training experience.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for admitted patients within the department or under consultant supervision.
  • Conduct initial patient assessments, request necessary investigations, analyze test results, diagnose conditions, and administer treatment.
  • Prescribe or administer therapy, medication, and specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, adhering to granted privileges.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and progress during each shift, providing timely updates to the consultant.
  • Perform diagnostic or therapeutic procedures as specifically privileged, based on qualification, training, and experience.

Operational and Collaborative Duties

  • Manage assigned clinics according to the approved Rota, as directed by the Head of Department and Medical Director.
  • Undertake daily independent rounds and participate in consultant rounds for all admitted patients.
  • Assist consultants in all surgical procedures.
  • Document complete medical records accurately and promptly, updating progress notes concurrently in Patient Health Records.
  • Attend all hospital emergency codes in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of Residents, nurses, and therapists involved in patient care.

Professional Development and Ethical Practice

  • Actively participate in continuous quality improvement activities within the department and hospital.
  • Serve on Departmental and Hospital Committees as requested.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Islamic Values and Medical Ethics, maintaining a high standard of professional care.
  • Provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.
  • Contribute to the education of patients and their families on healthy lifestyles, and to community health awareness.

Qualifications and Licensure

  • Graduate of a medical school recognized by the country of origin's Medical Council.
  • Completion of appropriate internship and residency programs.
  • Post-graduation qualifications in the specialty, with successful completion of specialty training or postgraduate studies.
  • Candidates who have completed training are eligible to apply immediately (0-1 years of experience).
  • Relevant certifications, subspecialty degrees, and membership, fellowship, and/or board certification in the respective specialty are preferred.
  • Possession of relevant licensure from the country of origin, acceptable to the Saudi Commission for Health Specialty and Ministry of Health.
