About the Role

Almoosa Health Group is seeking a dedicated Paramedic to join our team in Al-Ahsa, Eastern Province. This full-time position is crucial for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within our healthcare environment. The role requires a professional with 2-5 years of experience, committed to upholding the highest standards of medical support and patient dignity.

Patient Care Philosophy

As a Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing personalized, coordinated care, support, and treatment to patients and their families. A core aspect of this role involves treating every individual with dignity, compassion, and respect, actively involving patients in decisions, and empowering them to take actions that support their well-being. You will play a vital role in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for all patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient assistance, including changing into gowns, assisting with mobility, and ensuring comfort.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, weights for pediatric patients, and pulse oximetry readings on patient records.
  • Apply cardiac monitors and/or non-invasive blood pressure monitors as necessary.
  • Retrieve medical records and promptly notify the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Physician of patient conditions or significant changes.
  • Report all unusual incidents to the appropriate personnel and assist the RN with ambulance runs and patient placement.
  • Orient patients and families to the emergency department room, call light system, and access to supervising nurses.
  • Keep patient families informed of progress, delays, and other relevant information, while strictly adhering to patient privacy regulations (HIPAA).
  • Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) during codes and assist in managing assaultive behavior patients.
  • Ensure crash carts and defibrillation functions are checked per protocol and after each use, with immediate replacement of items.
  • Apply simple and complex dressings, perform EKGs, apply splints, and transport specimens to the laboratory.
  • Assist RNs in the transportation of patients admitted to the hospital and order/stock special supplies as needed.
  • Demonstrate appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain excellent hand hygiene.
  • Prevent injury to self and patients by applying principles of body mechanics and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Explain all treatments and procedures thoroughly to patients, involving them in care decisions where appropriate.
  • Reinforce patient teaching, focusing on safety issues identified within the unit/facility.
  • Proactively identify, report, and participate in the resolution of potential or actual patient safety issues.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Assist with the training of new employees and maintain mandatory training requirements.
  • Utilize Patient Safety Goals in the workplace and demonstrate awareness of a safe environment for all.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of two years of professional experience as a Paramedic post-graduation is preferred.
