The Role of Material Management Specialist

Air Products Qudra is seeking a Material Management Specialist for a full-time position in Al Jubail. This role involves close collaboration with Operations & Maintenance teams to manage spare parts inventory and consumables. The specialist ensures an optimized balance between plant costs and equipment availability, considering capital costs in inventory, and provides daily support for the safe and efficient management of the bill of materials and warehouse inventory using SAP. This position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Inventory and Warehouse Management Responsibilities

  • Build and input Bill of Materials (BOM) data and storage locations into SAP, as provided by suppliers.
  • Determine optimal spare parts levels post-commissioning, based on in-country availability and business needs.
  • Manage general plant provisioning, including the setup and management of 'zone' stores.
  • Provide essential warehouse support during plant commissioning activities.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control and optimize stock levels.
  • Manage the inward and outward shipment and control of facility spares.
  • Oversee the stock replacement and inventory check programs.
  • Arrange emergency transport with vendors as required.
  • Provide training and support in 'hard goods' inventory management methods and SAP transactions.
  • Manage the safe storage of capital spares, both onsite and offsite.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to understand plant issues and execute cost-effective solutions.
  • Provide support during turnarounds (TAR), ensuring timely availability of spares and materials to the site team.

Safety and Operational Compliance

  • Contribute to maintaining a safe work environment and demonstrate leadership in company and industry safety processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety, health, and environment standards, including mandatory safety requirements.
  • Execute warehouse activities in compliance with EH&S requirements and contribute to EH&S procedure development.
  • Supervise and assist warehouse contractors, ensuring adherence to safety and reliability philosophies.
  • Understand and comply with environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure company standards and best practices for warehouse management are consistently met.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in warehouse and inventory management.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related Technical discipline.
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic (reading and writing).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SAP (ERP System).
  • Forklift operation with a valid driver’s license, including the ability to operate and train others, is considered an advantage.

Work Environment and Collaboration

This role operates in a dynamic environment, requiring availability for emergency response 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The specialist will work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to address plant issues and implement cost-effective solutions, ensuring customer satisfaction in terms of safety, reliability, product quality, and supply flexibility. The position also involves providing warehouse input for scheduled outages and supporting overall construction and commissioning activities.
