About Calderys and the Role

Calderys is seeking a Quality Control Manager to join its Operations Team. This full-time position is based in Al Jubail, Eastern, Saudi Arabia, and is integral to maintaining high standards across product quality and operational processes.

Role Overview and Objectives

The Quality Control Manager will drive continuous improvement in product quality, safety, and cost efficiency, aligning with Group policies. This role is focused on enhancing customer satisfaction, reducing complaints, and improving overall operational excellence within the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe working environment aligned with EHS best practices.
  • Oversee quality control of processes and finished products to ensure compliance with internal and customer standards.
  • Plan and execute product and process development projects.
  • Drive product cost-reduction initiatives through focused planning and execution.
  • Manage the inspection of finished goods for conformance to technical specifications.
  • Ensure effective control and timely evaluation of incoming raw materials.
  • Supervise calibration and upkeep of laboratory equipment for accurate testing results.
  • Implement actions to reduce product quality complaints and improve reliability.
  • Support product customization to meet specific customer and application requirements.
  • Participate in customer and supplier visits for technical discussions and quality assurance.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, QMS, and internal Calderys quality systems.
  • Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, R&D, Project Applications, and Supply Chain.
  • Provide technical training and mentoring to subordinates for skill and knowledge development.
  • Handle third-party and customer inspections of materials with professionalism and clarity.
  • Maintain test records systematically for traceability and internal/external audits.
  • Uphold and promote 5S standards to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in a quality control or management role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of ceramics and refractories.
  • Knowledge of various refractory testing and characterization techniques.
  • Familiarity with mineralogy, crystallography, and phase diagrams.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Proficiency in MS Office and professional email communication.
  • Ability to correlate refractory properties with performance outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Detail-oriented and quality-focused approach to tasks.
