About the Role at Kent

Kent is seeking a Commissioning & Startup Lead to join our team in Al Jubail, Eastern Region. This full-time position is critical for overseeing and executing the commissioning and startup phases of complex industrial projects, ensuring operational readiness and performance targets are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including operations, engineering, construction contractors, licensors, and vendors, to ensure safe and efficient plant startup.
• Develop and review commissioning procedures, startup plans, test packages, operating manuals, and turnover dossiers.
• Conduct functional testing of control systems, safety interlocks, ESD systems, burner management systems (BMS), and process control loops.
• Support catalyst reduction, reformer heat-up, steam-out operations, feed introduction, process optimization, and performance guarantee testing.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, process safety management standards, and permit-to-work systems throughout commissioning and startup phases.
• Participate in troubleshooting process upsets, equipment performance issues, and optimization of hydrogen and syngas production.
• Successfully hand over commissioned systems to operations, ensuring achievement of design capacity, reliability, and performance targets.

Project Scope and Technical Expertise

The role requires demonstrated experience in managing startup activities across a range of critical systems. This includes reformer furnaces, feed gas systems, steam systems, fuel gas systems, process air systems, syngas production units, and associated utility systems.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in commissioning and startup roles within industrial plant environments.

This is a full-time position based in Al Jubail, Eastern Region.
