About the Role

IOTA GROUP is seeking a Data Steward ECT to join their client, a global multi-energy company with large-scale refining and petrochemical facilities. This contract position is based in Al Jubayl, Saudi Arabia, and requires 5-10 years of experience. The role involves contributing to complex international projects within a high-performance industrial environment, specifically supporting the AMIRAL project, a flagship petrochemical expansion.

Project Context: The AMIRAL Project

The AMIRAL project is a new petrochemicals expansion in Saudi Arabia, integrated with the existing SATORP refinery (a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and TotalEnergies). This megaproject involves a mixed-feed steam cracker producing MT/y of chemicals, related petrochemical and HDPE units, and supporting infrastructure, with an overall CAPEX exceeding $* billion. The project is managed by an integrated project management team (PMT) comprising secondees from TotalEnergies, Saudi Aramco, and external employees, based in the Jubail industrial area. Data Stewards are part of the Engineering Core Team (ECT) within the PMT general entity and report to the Amiral Digital Officer.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement the approved AMIRAL data governance model within the assigned scope.
• Maintain data ownership, stewardship, technical custody, validation, and approval responsibilities.
• Document critical data objects, definitions, business rules, sources, uses, and quality expectations.
• Define and operate checks for data completeness, validity, uniqueness, consistency, integrity, timeliness, and traceability.
• Coordinate recurring data submissions with EPCC Contractor Data Managers and engineering teams.
• Verify submissions adhere to approved templates, formats, tagging conventions, and required attributes.
• Load or coordinate accepted data into the Digital Twin environment.
• Maintain package data in the AMIRAL Digital Twin and related engineering-data environment.
• Apply the approved Asset Reference Data Library, master data model, classes, and tag rules.
• Maintain weekly and monthly reporting on submissions, data quality, backlog, progress, and risks.
• Train and support users on templates, quality expectations, and Digital Twin processes.
• Prepare governed, protected, and maintainable data for commissioning, operations, and final handover.

Accountabilities

1. Provide a consistent and traceable data set enabling AMIRAL Digital Twin use cases and downstream databases.
2. Protect project data and preserve usability and maintainability through execution and handover.
3. Ensure findings are evidenced, communicated, assigned, and followed to verified closure.
4. Escalate material data-quality, schedule, security, or ownership risks promptly.
5. Maintain an audit trail of submissions, checks, decisions, changes, and approvals.
6. Comply with HSE, information security, confidentiality, and records-management requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience is required for this role.
• Experience in data governance, data quality, and data management within large-scale industrial projects.
• Familiarity with digital twin environments and master/reference data management.
• Ability to coordinate with various stakeholders, including contractors and engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of data validation, reporting, and issue resolution processes.

Work Environment

The Data Steward will work as part of the Engineering Core Team (ECT) within the integrated project management team (PMT), based in the Jubail industrial area, Saudi Arabia. The role involves supporting the AMIRAL project, a highly complex petrochemicals program with multi EPCC packages, interfacing with various downstream investors and third-party stakeholders.
