Role Overview

ENGIE Middle East is seeking an Electrical Technician to join its team in Al Jubayl, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical assets within the Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) and Desalination Plant. The Electrical Technician will primarily focus on performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, alongside troubleshooting and testing of all electrical equipment and systems to support uninterrupted power and water production.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS) standards.
• Organize necessary spares, tools, and equipment for maintenance activities.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on major electrical systems, adhering to OEM manuals and industry best practices.
• Perform independent troubleshooting to identify failure conditions and rectify defects.
• Collaborate with Plant Operations Personnel to resolve issues with control equipment, under the guidance of the Electrical Foreman/Engineer.
• Carry out assigned duties with minimal supervision.
• Maintain a safe working environment for self and colleagues during all equipment operations.
• Record and report all Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) jobs to the Foreman.
• Adhere strictly to company rules and procedures.
• Obtain all required permit authorizations for work on electrical systems.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
• Update the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) after each activity.
• Engage in technical training and continuous development programs.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of practical experience in maintaining electrical equipment, gained through hands-on work and formal training.
• Practical knowledge of plant isolations from system hazards.
• Sufficient knowledge of health & safety regulations and safe working practices.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including SAP and MS Office.
• Good command of the English Language.

Essential Requirements

• Ability to support 24-hour operations by being available for call-out at short notice when required.
• Possession of a valid Saudi driving license is mandatory.
• Residency in Al Jubail is preferred to ensure quick access to the plant in emergency situations.

Physical and Operational Demands

The Electrical Technician role operates in demanding environments, requiring strong physical and mental resilience. Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Medically fit to work in power plant conditions, including exposure to high voltage, heat, noise, and confined spaces.
• Possess adequate strength and stamina for prolonged periods of standing, walking, and climbing during inspections and supervision.
• Capable of working at heights and in elevated areas, such as scaffolds and overhead cranes.
• Able to lift and handle electrical tools and equipment weighing up to 20–25 kg.
• Maintain good vision (with corrective lenses if necessary) and hearing for monitoring electrical systems and alarms safely.
• Exhibit strong hand-eye coordination and dexterity for handling electrical components.
• Capable of prompt physical response in emergency or fault conditions, including rapid movement to safe locations.
• Tolerate rotating shifts, extended working hours, emergency callouts, and physically demanding schedules as dictated by plant operational needs.
• Free from medical conditions that could impair alertness, balance, or safe performance of electrical supervision duties.

Work Environment and Expectations

The Electrical Technician will work collaboratively with other Electrical Technicians to ensure plant routines are executed efficiently and to high-quality standards. This role emphasizes adherence to company procedures, active participation in safety initiatives, and a commitment to continuous professional development.
